Polao (for 2 pax)

Ingredients
Basmati rice | Take one cup in a measuring cup. |
Snap beans | About 200 gm (cut into small pieces). |
Carrots | 200 gm (cut into small pieces). |
Peas | 200 gm. |
Cashew | 10 pieces(optional). |
Raisins | 10 pieces. |
Sugar | According to taste. |
Salt | According to taste. |
Cinnamon sticks | 4/5. |
Cardamom | 5/6. |
Cloves | 4/5. |
Oil | 4 tbsp. |
Ghee | 6 tbsp. |
Preparation
- Make rice in a saucepan and when you cook rice cook it in low heat so that it does not
become sticky and don't use pressure cooker.
- Now in a frying pan put 4 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp ghee and heat, then put cinnamon sticks, cardamom, cloves and fry
on medium- high heat, when all these things becomes light brown give carrots, beans and peas and stir for 2 mins
on medium heat.
- Then give salt and keep stirring for 4 mins and then keep it on low-medium heat for boiling.
- When its fully cooked it should be dried up too, now put in rice and stir.
- Keep on strring and give little sugar and little bit salt according to taste, after about 2 mins put raisins
and cashews and stir again for like 5 mins on low heat and then turn the stove off.
- Before serving warm it up and then put the rest 4 tbsp of ghee and spread over the rice.
Tips:
When somebody is coming to your house and you want to serve plain rice you can follow a simple method, cook rice
in a saucepan, first give water and little oil and little salt on the saucepan and when the water gets boiled put
in the rice and cook. This will give rice a very good look and it will taste a little bit different from the rice
we cook everyday.
